Sacramento-area residents will soon have another option for camping and hiking gear.

REI Co-op will open at 9145 W. Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove next year, the company said in an Oct. 18 news release.

The specialty outdoor retailer plans to open a total of six locations in 2025 as part of “the company’s efforts to support the active lifestyles of its membership and outdoor communities,” the release said.

“Cities that will have new stores represent communities that serve as a gateway to some of the country’s most incredible natural places and where our members currently live or destinations where they love to play outside,” Mary-Farrell Tarbox, REI vice president of stores, said in the release.
