Thousands lose power in Sacramento’s Land Park area after stormy weather

Thousands of residents were without power in parts of Sacramento on Saturday, a day after record rainfall swept across the region.

As of 1 p.m. Saturday, around 6,000 customers were without power in the Pocket and Greenhaven neighborhoods, according to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District website, and nearly 2,200 homes and businesses were without power in Land Park.

The SMUD website’s outage map initially showed an estimated time of restoration of 3 p.m. Power had been restored as of 3:45 p.m. to nearly all affected by the outage

The cause of the outage was not known.
