Looking to ice skate near south Sacramento?

A new temporary rink is open to the public from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays near the FoodMaxx at 3860 Florin Road.

It was organized by the Florin Road Partnership, which has also arranged for a holiday marketplace at the site this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. It is expected to feature food and crafts.

Those looking to ice skate will have until Jan. 11. It normally costs $12 for adults and $10 for youths and seniors, according to the group. That includes renting skates for an hour.

On Friday and Saturday evenings the rink will have special DJ events and the price will rise to $15 for adults and $12 for youths and seniors. The ice can be reserved for special events Mondays through Wednesdays.

Downtown Sacramento also has a temporary ice skating rink for the holidays as does downtown Folsom.
