Yemeni coffee shop chain is opening first Sacramento-area location. Here’s where and when
A Yemeni coffee shop chain is expanding with its first location in the Sacramento area.
Haraz Coffee House is opening at 3031 Foothills Blvd. in Roseville at the Roseville Plaza shopping center, as reported by the Sacramento Business Journal.
Demand for Yemeni-style coffee has steadily increased in the capital region over the past year.
Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. opened in Folsom in July, followed by Qisa Coffee in Sacramento’s Curtis Park neighborhood in August and Sana’a Cafe on The Kay in downtown Sacramento in November.
Here’s what you need to know:
What is Haraz Coffee House?
Haraz Coffee House CEO Hamzah Nasser came up with the idea of a coffee company in 2018, the chain said in its website.
However, it wasn’t until 2021 that Nasser opened the first Haraz Coffee House location in Michigan.
The company’s mission is to “bring the essence of Yemeni coffee culture to more neighborhoods,” the website said, inviting coffee lovers to experience the rich heritage of sun-dried beans and ancient traditions.
Haraz Coffee House currently has 17 open locations and another 128 locations in development, including expansion to Canada and the Middle East, according to its website.
Where is new Sacramento-area Yemeni coffee shop?
Haraz Coffee House is expected to take over Unit 100, a 1,700-square-foot space at Vineyard Pointe previously occupied by Quiznos.
The shopping center, which owned by real estate developer Century Management Company, is near Vineyard Road in Roseville.
When will Roseville coffeehouse open?
Century Management leasing and sales representative Brian English said Haraz Coffee House is expected to open in “a few months”.
“This is a very high-end coffee and bakery shop,” English told The Bee in an email.
What’s on the menu?
Haraz Coffee House offers Yemeni-style beverages such as Harazi Mufawar, a Yemeni-style coffee with cream and cardamom, starting at $5.50 for a 12-ounce drink.
Other menu items include Maleki, a light-roast coffee with cream, ginger and cinnamon, and Qishr, made with coffee husks, ginger and cinnamon. Both drinks start at $5.50.
The franchise also offers matcha teas, lattes, iced coffee, cappuccinos and macchiatos ranging in price between $5.50 and $7.95.
Are there other California locations?
Haraz Coffee House currently has one California location open, at 1452 Franklin St. in San Francisco.
What else is at Vineyard Pointe?
English said that a Quick Quack Car Wash will be opening in the next month at the shopping plaza.
According to Century Management Company’s website, other businesses at the plaza include the following:
Air Soft Supply Store
Taqueria Los Altos
