Man missing from Elk Grove located after CHP issues Silver Alert for Sacramento County

Missing person found

The California Highway Patrol says a man who went missing Monday in Elk Grove has been located safely after authorities issued a Silver Alert for his disappearance.

The 84-year-old man was last seen on Falling Rain Court and Orchard View Drive about 12:30 p.m. Monday. He was on foot, according to the CHP, which issued the alert for Sacramento County on behalf of the Elk Grove Police Department.

Elk Grove police said Wednesday morning that the man had been “with family in the southern part of San Joaquin County. Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out and sharing!”

The CHP issues a Silver Alert when a missing person meets certain criteria. The victim must be at least 65 years old, may be in danger due to health or suspicious reasons and the investigating agency has exhausted all its resources.
