Teen cited for assaulting Sacramento-area high school staffer — 2nd on-campus incident in week

Police tape at crime scene

An Antelope High School student involved in a fight with another student Monday afternoon was cited after allegedly kicking a staff member who helped to separate the students. The Monday incident was the second alleged attack in a week by a student against a school staffer.

An on-campus Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy helped pull the students apart following the fight about 1:30 p.m. Monday. Deputies say the 14-year-old student then kicked a staffer in the groin.

The student was issued a citation alleging battery against a school employee and other unspecified misdemeanor charges, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Tuesday.

Antelope school administrators will determine whether they or Roseville Joint Union High School District officials will take additional action, the Sheriff’s Office said in the statement.

Days earlier, on March 6, another 14-year-old allegedly punched and physically assaulted an Antelope teacher after refusing to follow their directions before turning on a student who tried to intervene, deputies said in a news release.

The student in that incident was cited on suspicion of battery and released.
