Ross Dress For Less is opening a new location in the Sacramento area.
The popular discount chain will open the store on Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento, according to real estate firm Merlone Geier Partners and the Sacramento Business Journal.
It will be the retailer’s eighth location in or around the city of Sacramento.

What is Ross Dress For Less?
Morris Ross opened the first Ross department store in 1950 in San Bruno.
For decades, Ross operated as a small junior department store chain in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Then, in 1982, a group of investors bought a total of six Ross department stores and converted them to the Ross Dress For Less off-price format, Ross Stores Inc. said on its website.
Now there are more than 1,700 Dress for Less locations in the United States and Guam, according to the corporate site.
Where is new Sacramento-area location?
The new Ross Dress for Less store is at 5712 Folsom Blvd. in the Camellia Center shopping center.
The 19,900-square-feet space is between Wells Fargo and Cool Chiropractic.
It previously housed a Rite Aid location.
Camellia Center, a 107,692-square-foot neighborhood shopping center, is owned by Merlone Geier Partners, a West Coast-based real estate company with properties throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
When will East Sacramento store open?
Ross Dress For Less signed a lease for the East Sacramento space in February and plans to open the store in October, broker Soraya Sharifi-Slaughter of Merlone Geier Partners told the Sacramento Business Journal.
Merlone Geier Partners had not returned several calls for comment from The Sacramento Bee as of Thursday afternoon.
What’s for sale at Ross Dress For Less?
Ross Dress for Less sells everything from women and men’s fashion to home decor and children’s toys and clothes, according to its website.
The chain also carries beauty supplies including beauty blenders, eyelash curlers and designer fragrances, according to the site.
Ross Dress for Less said it prides itself on providing customers with “in-season, name brand and designer apparel” for 20% to 60% off department and specialty store prices.
