One dead following collision near Del Paso Heights in Sacramento

A person was killed in a collision Saturday morning that occurred near Del Paso Heights, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers responded to a crash near Rio Linda Boulevard and North Avenue just before 11:30 a.m., where one of the parties was pronounced dead, according to Police Department spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble.
Gamble said the other vehicle stayed at the scene and that the driver was cooperating with authorities. Gamble added that it does not appear that drivers were under the influence of substances at the time of the collision.
Police said that major collision investigators and crime scene investigators would take over the investigation.
