Sacramento police investigate after body found near city’s Granite Park

Police tape at crime scene

Sacramento police on Monday discovered a body near the city’s Granite Regional Park, and are calling the death suspicious, department officials said.

Dispatchers received a call of something wrapped in a blanket in the 8100 block of Cucamonga Avenue near Power Inn Road. Officers responded after 7 p.m. Monday, finding a man’s body.

Investigators were called to take over the scene, but Police Department officials said they don’t yet know whether the man met with foul play. Investigators were also trying to determine the man’s age.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will identify the man once family have been notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call dispatchers at 916-808-5471.
