Chuze Fitness to open 2 gyms in the Sacramento-area. Here’s what to know

What's opening in the Sacramento area

Chuze Fitness, a San Diego-based fitness club chain, plans to open two new locations in the Sacramento region.

According to the company’s website, a new health club will open at 4850 Freeport Blvd. in the South Land Park neighborhood, near Wentworth Avenue. The website lists the location as “coming soon” and offers pre-opening membership specials. The facility is expected to open in 2026.

The Freeport Boulevard site, part of the former Raley’s space that moved a block north in 2020, will be the company’s third in the region, joining locations at 6061 Florin Road in south Sacramento and 5995 Birdcage Centre Lane in Citrus Heights.

It’ll share the space with an Ace Hardware store, The Bee previously reported.

Chuze Fitness is known for amenities including saunas, circuit training, cardio equipment, hydro massage, body composition scanning, pools, tanning, and hot tubs. Some locations also feature turf training areas, outdoor workout zones, and courts for basketball and pickleball, though offerings vary by site.

A fourth regional location is planned for northern Sacramento County. Real estate developer Ethan Conrad Properties announced via Facebook that Chuze Fitness has leased a 46,249-square-foot space at 4249 Elverta Road in Antelope, formerly occupied by Orchard Supply Hardware.

Chuze Fitness director of real estate Rae Speciale said it was “a bit premature” to estimate an opening date for the Antelope location.

Chuze Fitness operates more than 50 locations nationwide.
