Pickup truck driver killed in solo crash on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento
A driver was killed early Monday after a pickup truck crashed into a barrier near the junction of Highway 50 and Interstate 80 in West Sacramento, authorities said.
The crash on westbound I-80 occurred about 3:35 a.m., according to Officer Nick Helfrich, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol’s Woodland office. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, Helfrich said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The CHP reopened the roadway just after 6 a.m.
