Three reported dead after head-on crash on Highway 70 near Marysville
A head-on crash on Highway 70 in Marysville Saturday afternoon left three people dead and three more injured, according to published reports citing information from the Marysville Police Department.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. near 24th street on Highway 70, causing road closures in both directions for multiple hours.
According to police, five people were in one vehicle and a driver was alone in the other. Three people, including a minor, were transported to a hospital with major injuries.
One had to be airlifted from the scene, police said. Victims’ identities have not yet been released.
The Yuba Country Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Marysville Police Department with an investigation into the crash. Speed is being investigated as a factor, police said.
