According to the City of Sacramento, here is the best practices for disposing of fireworks:

  • Completely submerge fireworks in a bucket of water
  • Double wrap soaked fireworks in plastic wrap or plastic bags
  • Place wrapped bags in the garbage container (never in the recycling bin)
