A man died in a fire that consumed an Arden Arcade home Sunday, according to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials.

Metro Fire investigators were determining what caused the blaze that gutted the home in the 4100 block of Pasadena Avenue.

Metro Fire crews reached the house just before 7:40 p.m., finding the home well-involved with flames spreading to a nearby outbuilding.

Firefighters found the man’s body on the home’s front porch, Metro Fire Capt. Mark Nunez, a department spokesman, said in a release following the blaze. No other injuries were reported.

Sacramento County coroner’s and sheriff’s officials were called to the home. Coroner’s officials will identify the man once family members have been notified.

Metro Fire crews battled the flames for roughly an hour, containing the fire to the home and an outbuilding and preventing its spread to nearby buildings.
