Chipotle offers free burritos at new Sacramento-area location opening soon
Chipotle Mexican Grill will open a new location this week in the Sacramento area, featuring the brand’s Chipotlane, a drive-through pick-up lane that allows patrons to pick up orders without leaving their vehicles.
The fast food Mexican restaurant will open the doors to its newest site Wednesday at 4801 Watt Ave. in North Highlands, formerly occupied by a Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The new Watt Avenue location is one of the 345 additional locations that the company said it would open in 2025, according to a November news release. The Mexican fast food chain recently opened a location on Fulton Avenue in Arden Arcade in July.
The new North Highlands restaurant is open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Chipotle spokesperson Mohit Patel said.
What do they offer
The Denver-based Mexican grill first opened in 1993 and has since expanded to more than 2,300 restaurants around the world, the restaurant’s website said.
The fast food eatery offers dishes such as burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salad bowls.
Sacramento’s newest location is promoting the brand’s latest dip Adobo Ranch for a limited time. It’s Chipotle’s first new dip since they unveiled their queso blanco in 2020.
Rewards program
The company is giving away $1 million worth of free Chipotle to reward members, including 10,000 free burrito drops every week, as part of their Chipotle Summer of Extras program.
“Fans can sign up for Chipotle Rewards and opt into “Summer of Extras” to start earning free Chipotle,” Patel said.
Sign-ups are available online or by downloading the Chipotle app and creating an account.
Want to work here?
The North Highlands location is currently hiring, as well as other Chipotle locations, Patel said.
“There are approximately 30 jobs per location, with competitive benefits,” Patel said.
Benefits of working at Chipotle include: a crew bonus with the opportunity to earn an extra month’s worth of pay each year; a debt-free college degree program; and English as a second language and access to mental healthcare for employees and their families.
