A U.S. Postal Service office has moved its downtown Sacramento site, opening a new service store in the city’s R Street corridor.

The new Post Office has opened at 1016 R St., in the The Carlaw building across from Fox & Goose Public House.

It moved from its previous Sacramento Metro Retail Station at 660 J St. after the landlord of SixSixty at Downtown Commons, Cushfield & Wakeman, did not offer a lease extension due to remodeling plans, according to the Postal Service and previous Bee reporting.

The new R Street location is expected to provide the same services as the previous site. The Metro Post Office operating hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
