Unfounded: Davis police say community post of active bomb threat is 2 years old

News from the city of Davis

Davis police are debunking information posted on a community website of an active bomb threat in the city as unfounded and from a two-year-old social media post.

“There is no current threat to public safety in the city or at any of our schools. Our officers have confirmed that this post is unfounded and there is no cause for alarm,” the Davis Police Department said on social media. "This information is unfounded and based on an incident that occurred two years ago.”

Davis police did not name the website that shared the posting, but police officials in their post encouraged residents to “verify information through official sources before sharing outdated posts from our social media accounts.”

Residents can find information and updates from Davis Police Department on its Facebook page.
