How to vote for your favorite cat or dog

The deadline for submissions is noon on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Anyone living in the Sacramento region can submit their cats and dogs for The Bee’s cutest pet contest. You can enter multiple pets, but you must use a separate submission form for each animal.

If we receive more than 50 submissions, a newsroom committee made up of Bee pet lovers will choose the top 50 pets in each category. Those cats and dogs will move onto public voting rounds.

Once voting opens, you can vote as many times as you want. Reload the page to vote again.

The first round of voting begins at 11 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday, Oct. 20, and ends on midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The top 10 dogs or cats will move on to the second round of voting, which kicks off at Thursday, Oct. 23.

Voting for Round 2 ends on Monday, Oct. 27.

A winner will be announced on Monday, Nov. 3, on SacBee.com.

The winning cat and dog will then be submitted to a national poll that includes winners from fellow McClatchy papers across the U.S. That poll will be shared across all markets, with voting starting on Monday, Nov. 10.

Reminder: This poll isn’t scientific — it’s just for fun!
