I visited Sacramento-area pumpkin patch with fun, food trucks. How I spent $25
Colorful signs of cows and farmers guide pumpkin patch fans to the entrance to a popular Sacramento-area farm.
Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch, 23300 County Road 99D in Woodland, is surrounded by corn fields near Highway 113 and Willow Slough.
The farm is bright, colorful and incredibly spacious.
Hundreds of pumpkins of all sizes decorate acres of farmland along with hay bails and fall decorations.
A Sacramento Bee reader recommended that I check out Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch as part of The Bee’s On a Budget series, which helps readers find fun and affordable ways to connect to the community.
Here’s what I discovered:
What is Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch in Woodland like?
I visited Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch at around 2 p.m. on a weekend. It was a sunny and warm day.
I grabbed a free parking spot near the entrance and joined the crowd.
As I entered the farm, I was greeted by friendly workers sharing information on where to obtain a wagon for pumpkin gathering and how to buy tickets to the many games and rides available.
Patrons can purchase tickets for the petting zoo, pony rides, hay maze, face painting, bounce house or cow train.
Visitors of all ages were dressed in their autumn best. Young children with dragons and cows painted on their small faces eagerly waited in line for kettle corn and ice cream at the many food trucks that lined the outer circle of the farm.
Other vendors include stands selling caramel apples, hot dogs, burgers, burritos and tacos.
A large tent near the entrance has snacks including Rice Krispies treats, candy and chips as well as Halloween costumes for both kids and adults.
Limited picnic tables and shade are located at the center of the farm near the food trucks.
In addition to food and family-friendly activities, the farm features dozens of photo opportunities such as a pumpkin carriage and animal cutouts.
