Although Sacramento’s City Hall will be closed on for Thanksgiving Day, trash will be picked up on Thursday as usual.
“Regular residential garbage, organic waste and recycling collection service will occur on holidays,” the city of Sacramento said on its website.
Will garbage collection be delayed in Sacramento County?
People living in unincorporated areas of Sacramento County won’t see their regularly scheduled trash pickup affected by Thanksgiving, according to the county Department of Waste Management and Recycling.
“Here’s something to feel thankful about,” the county said in a 2021 Facebook post. “Our SacGreenTeam Collection Equipment drivers will be working as usual on Thanksgiving Day to empty your garbage, recycling and green waste carts.”
