One person was found dead after a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento’s South Hagginwood neighborhood, authorities said.

Firefighters responded around 1:30 p.m. to a fire at a two-story home on Acacia Avenue, Sacramento Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Justin Sylvia said. After crews knocked down the fire, one victim was found dead, he said.

The cause of the fire was not known as of early Wednesday evening and remains under investigation, Sylvia said.
