Roadway fatality

A woman killed in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday in south Sacramento has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Ronisha Ann Marie Daniel, 27, of Sacramento, died at the scene of the collision in the Lemon Hill neighborhood, according to the coroner.

The crash occurred about 1:15 a.m. at Franklin Boulevard and 47th Avenue when a gray Nissan Rogue ran a red light and struck a silver Nissan Rogue, the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office said.

After the collision, the gray SUV continued into a parking lot and struck a fence. Daniel, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in her vehicle were taken to hospitals with major injuries. The driver and a passenger in the silver SUV were also hospitalized with serious injuries, according to CHP.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
