Roadway fatality

A person was killed in a crash Saturday morning in Sacramento’s Ben Ali neighborhood, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith said officers arrived at Marconi Avenue and Marconi Circle shortly after 11:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a multi-vehicle collision.

Smith said three vehicles were involved in the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Five additional individuals were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition, Smith said.

“Due to the circumstances, detectives from our Major Collision Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Investigators are responding to take over the investigation,” Smith said. “They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses.”

Smith said the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after family members are notified.
