Spring storm brings wet weekend to Sacramento area. See where the most rain fell
The latest spring storm brought widespread rain to the Sacramento region over the weekend, with some communities seeing more than 2 inches of rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
The rain totals were measured over a 24-hour period starting 10 a.m. on Saturday to 10 a.m. on Sunday, showing that communities saw a widespread of rain, from 0.5- 2.5 inches.
Some of the heaviest rainfall fell in Placer County communities. Roseville recorded 2.36 inches of rain, followed by Loomis with 2.28 inches, Newcastle with 2.25 inches and Auburn with 2.17 inches. In Lincoln, rainfall totaled 1.14 inches.
Elsewhere in the region, Folsom recorded 1.74 inches and Orangevale measured 1.54 inches. Citrus Heights saw 1.19 inches and Rancho Cordova reported 1.15 inches.
Sacramento-area airport gauges showed lower totals. Sacramento Executive Airport recorded 0.96 inches, McClellan Airport measured 0.94 inches and Sacramento International Airport reported 0.72 inches.
Other smaller rainfall totals included 0.91 inches in Rio Linda and in Elk Grove.
