One bird has been found after several escaped from a bird preservation facility near Browns Valley.

The birds escaped after the facility, located at 10308 Spring Valley Road on the outskirts of Marysville, was broken into Friday.

The facility said an unknown intruder entered the property, vandalized equipment and released 11 birds.

An eagle was found about two miles from the facility after a neighbor spotted it.

“The pirates had cut all of his gear off so he had to ride home like this. Mavro was quite hungry and flew right into his chamber, his safe place,” West Coast Falconry wrote in a Facebook post.

A peregrine falcon, great horned owl, red-tailed hawk and several eagles remain missing.
