New chief announced as Roseville police enter new chapter
Jeff Beigh will become Roseville’s next police chief on April 28, when Chief Troy Bergstrom retires, the city said.
Beigh has served in multiple leadership roles during his 20-year career, including assignments in narcotics, the social services unit, professional standards, SWAT command and training.
He has held the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant and captain in the Operations Division, where he currently oversees patrol, community service officers, special operations and the K-9 unit.
As chief, Beigh will oversee a $69 million annual operating budget and the department’s 240 sworn officers and professional staff.
Beigh was a founding member of the Family Mobile Team, a partnership with Placer County Health and Human Services that evolved into a broader countywide approach to supporting youth and families.
He also helped lead the Beat 8 expansion in west Roseville and co-leads the city’s Emergency Management Team.
Beigh said he looks forward to continuing to grow the organization.
“I’m truly honored to serve the City of Roseville and lead such an outstanding organization,” he said. “Having served our community for over two decades, I look forward to continuing to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and provide the high level of service our community expects and deserves.”
Beigh holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and a bachelor’s degree in emergency services management. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
City Manager Dominick Casey said Beigh is a proven leader.
“Jeff Beigh is a proven leader with deep institutional knowledge and strong citywide support,” Casey said. “His people-centered approach to leadership is grounded in transparency, accountability and community-oriented policing that builds trust and fosters operational excellence.”
Beigh will serve as Roseville’s 19th police chief.
