1 hit as about 20 sheep and goats enter south Sacramento intersection, CHP says

Drivers may have noticed something out of the ordinary Saturday morning near south Sacramento.

The California Highway Patrol received a report at 9 a.m. of about 20 goats and sheep in the intersection of Elk Grove Florin Road and Spencerport Drive.

At least one sheep was hit, according to the report. Its condition is unknown.

There was heavy traffic in the area at the time, according to the CHP’s online activity log. However, a few minutes after the initial report, the agency was informed the animals had moved off the roadway.
