Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday in Folsom, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire District.

The crash occurred near Highway 50 and Prairie City Road, Sacramento Metro Fire Capt. Mark Nunez said.

Fire crews arrived to find one vehicle overturned on its roof. Nunez said crews extricated a passenger, who was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The second vehicle caught fire after the crash, igniting a small grass fire along the highway. Crews said contained both the vehicle and vegetation fires, preventing further spread.

Nunez said two people from the second vehicle were taken to a hospital, one in critical condition and one with moderate injuries.
