An Arden man was arrested back to back in one day due to being armed with a knife outside of people’s residences, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The department said they received calls Thursday evening about a man with a knife attempting to access residents’ homes.

Deputies identified and arrested a 56-year-old man. He was charged with criminal trespassing, according to the office.

The Sheriff’s Office said that the man was on felony probation but declined to place him on a probation hold. As a result, he was released from custody in less than two hours after being booked.

Hours after his release, North Patrol Deputies responded to a business near Fair Oaks Boulevard and San Lucas Way for a report of the same man trespassing on property.

“Deputies arrived and located him on site, and he was taken into custody without incident,” The Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.

After the second incident, a violation of probation hold was approved and the man is in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
