Who is Camron Lee? Fugitive in Angelica Bravo’s Sacramento death arrested
Camron Lee, the man accused of killing his partner Angelica Bravo in North Sacramento and fleeing with their two young children in July 2024, was arrested Tuesday morning in San Diego after nearly 18 months on the run.
Here is a look at the case that prompted a federal manhunt and a $50,000 reward.
- Federal authorities had announced up to $50,000 in combined rewards for information leading to Lee’s arrest and the recovery of his two children, Athena, now 5, and Mateo, now 4, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
- Lee was charged with murder after the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office concluded homicidal violence could not be ruled out in Bravo’s death, with autopsy findings showing multiple abrasions and contusions and MDMA in her system.
- Bravo, a 28-year-old hair instructor and mother of three, was ending a years-long abusive relationship with Lee in the days before she was found dead, her family said.
- Officers found Bravo unresponsive in a bathtub at a home on the 3700 block of Didcot Circle in the Oak Knoll neighborhood on the evening of July 8, 2024, after friends asked police to check on her.
- Lee’s gray 2023 Honda Passport was spotted on U.S. Customs and Border Protection surveillance video heading south into Mexico, and investigators believe he may have dropped the children off in Southern California before fleeing.
- The California Highway Patrol never issued an Amber Alert because Lee’s vehicle had already crossed into Mexico before the alert could be activated; an Endangered Missing Advisory was issued instead on July 11.
- The FBI described Lee, 40, as 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and extensive tattoos across his neck, torso and arms, including “NEW YORK” across his back.
- Lee was also charged in the days after Bravo’s death with four counts of possession of an assault weapon, and his abandoned vehicle was later found near Ensenada, Baja California, nearly 600 miles from Sacramento.
- Lee was arrested and booked into San Diego Central Jail Tuesday morning. San Diego County jail records show he was booked by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and is being held without bail on a Sacramento County murder charge and a federal hold.
