Lincoln man identified as motorist killed in Sacramento freeway crash near Marconi

Police tape at crime scene

A 20-year-old Lincoln man was killed Monday morning after his vehicle crashed down an embankment off the Capital City Freeway near the Marconi Avenue exit, authorities said.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Haotian Wang.

California Highway Patrol officers closed a lane of traffic at the Marconi Curve, a section of freeway that divides Sacramento and Arden Arcade, after the crash, which was reported around 5 a.m.

CHP logs indicated Wang was driving a blue Dodge SUV when the vehicle left the off-ramp and went 10 to 15 feet down an embankment before striking a pole.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
