43-year-old motorcyclist dies in Sacramento crash, coroner says

Roadway fatality

A 43-year-old man died Friday after a crash in Sacramento’s Willowcreek neighborhood, police and coroner’s officials said.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office in an online dashboard reported the man was driving a motorcycle when the incident took place. The solo motorcycle crash took place around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of West River Drive and Orchard Lane, which is about two blocks west of Orchard Park.

Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said the man was taken to a hospital where he later died.

As of Saturday morning, the man’s identity had not been released by the coroner.

He is at least the third motorcyclist to die in a crash this week in the Sacramento area, according to the Coroner’s Office dashboard.

A 23-year-old man died Tuesday after a crash on Interstate 80 near Norwood Avenue, according to the dashboard. On Sunday, a 19-year-old man died at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and 15th Street in West Sacramento.
