Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016:

Mild weekend on tap

A very mild mid-winter day is forecast for Sacramento. There is expected to be patchy fog before 10 a.m., but the day should turn sunny with a high near 65 degrees with light and variable wind, the National Weather Service reports. Temperatures should reach 67 for Super Bowl Sunday, according to the weather service.

Head to the museums

The 18th annual Sacramento Museum Day features free or reduced-price admission to most area museums and attractions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two venues, the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town, offer half-price admission to offset parking and traffic control costs. Academic Decathlon at Inderkum High

High school teams from Sacramento and Placer counties will compete from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. in the 2016 Academic Decathlon at Inderkum High School, 2500 New Market Drive, Sacramento. A total of 24 Sacramento County teams and three Placer County teams will compete. The Placer County teams will be competing among themselves and will be scored separately. This year’s topic: India. Starting in the morning with individual and group tests, the Academic Decathlon concludes with a Super Quiz at 3:45 p.m. The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Super Quiz scores, which account for roughly 10 percent of each team’s overall scores, will be announced after the event. Sacramento County’s overall top scorers and county champion will be announced at an awards banquet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Sacramento State University Ballroom.

Vietnamese celebration this weekend

The Vietnamese Lunar New Year – or “Tet” – is celebrated this weekend in Sacramento with a parade, open-air marketplace, food festival, live performing arts and carnival games and rides. The celebration starts at 9 a.m. Saturday with the Little Saigon Tet Parade. The procession will travel south on Stockton Boulevard commencing at Fruitridge Road and will culminate at Florin Road for the grand opening ceremony of the Lunar Flower Fest, where the festivities will continue. The celebration at 6525 Florin Road takes place until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Go to www.lunarflowerfest.org/en for more information.

  • The “I’m A Diva Trendy Thrift Clothes Event” takes place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Shepard Garden and Art Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento. Each attendee will receive 500 clothing credits to bid on thrift fashion items, shop local business vendors and enjoy a fashion showcase.
