Q: A couple of weeks ago, a little 4-year-old Sacramento boy named Adrian Brown Jr. was reportedly kidnapped by his father, Adrian Brown Sr., who had no parental rights. I have been looking every day to see if the police have found the little boy. Is there any news concerning the welfare of the child?
A: Adrian Brown Jr., who was allegedly abducted the evening of Feb. 3, was found safe the following morning and his father was taken into custody.
According to a story in The Sacramento Bee, Adrian Brown Sr., 29, had no custody or visitation rights and took the boy from a member of the child’s mother’s family at a residence in south Sacramento County about 6:15 p.m. Feb. 3.

Sacramento County sheriff’s officials said the senior Brown took the child using physical force and placed him in a vehicle before erratically driving away. He reportedly said he was taking his son and leaving the state. The boy had been deemed to be in danger because of the father’s aggressive actions, unsafe driving, lack of a child safety seat in the vehicle and because the father did not take along medication that the youngster required, sheriff’s officials said.
According to Sacramento County Jail inmate information available online, Brown Sr. was scheduled for release from jail Friday.
