Authorities have positively identified the body dug up near Beale Air Force Base on Tuesday as Adea Shabani, a 25-year-old fledgling model and actress who went missing from Los Angeles last month.

Shabani was identified by her tattoos Wednesday morning in an autopsy at the Placer County morgue, according to a Nevada County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Her death is believed to be a homicide via blunt force trauma to the head, but remains under investigation, authorities said.

Shabani went missing from her Hollywood home on Feb. 23. Christopher Spotz, 33, was romantically linked to the Macedonian woman and was considered a person of interest before leading police on a car chase across Southern California and fatally shooting himself last Thursday.

To share information about Shabani’s death with authorities, contact LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800 or 877-LAPD-247 after hours. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or access the online site at
