Investigators identified a suspect and a person of interest in a south Sacramento killing Tuesday after a man was found dead in his home April 14.
Joshua Thomas Vaden, 30, is on parole and wanted in connection to the homicide with a warrant out for his arrest, according to a news release issued by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim in the killing, 49-year-old Damien Michael, was found dead at his home in the 7000 block of Peevey Court by a family member and was determined to have been the victim of a “violent assault.”
Investigators have yet to determine a motive in the killing and are still searching for a female person of interest – who can be seen in photos provided by the sheriff’s department – and Michael’s car, which is missing, according to the release.
The car is a gray 2017 Ford Fiesta with an Illinois license plate that reads AM73381, according to the release.
Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect, person of interest or missing car to call 916-874-5115.
