Man arrested in connection with knifepoint sexual assault at West Sacramento apartment

Police on Sunday arrested a man accused of an attack and attempted sexual assault earlier this month at a West Sacramento apartment building.

With help from the public in identifying the suspect, detectives arrested Dominique Jackson, 29, of Sacramento, in connection with the Dec. 15 incident, the West Sacramento Police Department said in an updated news release.

Police had received a report that a man entered the Rivermark apartment building at 959 Bridge St. around 10:40 a.m. on Dec. 15 and attempted to sexually assault a female victim in the building’s laundry room, according to an earlier news release. When she resisted, he “knocked her to the ground, kicked her and stomped on her, causing significant injuries,” police said.

Jackson was booked into the Yolo County jail on charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats, felony assault, false imprisonment and sexual battery, the West Sacramento Police Department said.
