64-year-old man killed in Meadowview apartment fire identified by Sacramento coroner

The man who died after being rescued from a Meadowview apartment fire Thursday has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Collie Allen, 64, was killed in a fire that started in a four-unit apartment building at 2697 Meadowview Road, according to coroner’s records.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m., and Allen was pulled with severe injuries from the apartment by responding firefighters and taken to a hospital where he later died.

The fire was contained to a single upstairs unit and was quickly put out by the Sacramento Fire Department.

Although other units were damaged by smoke and water, there were no other injuries.

The cause of the fire was not yet determined.
