Woman killed, 2 men hospitalized after shooting in north Sacramento neighborhood

A woman was killed and two men were injured in a shooting late Sunday night in north Sacramento’s Hagginwood neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired near the 3100 block of Crandall Avenue around 11:15 p.m., Sacramento Police spokesman Officer Justin Hanks said.

Arriving officers “located two male adult victims and one female adult with gunshot wounds,” Hanks said.

All three victims were transported to a hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries, according to Hanks. The two men are expected to survive, he said.

No arrests have been made, Hanks said, and no suspect information was available as of Monday morning.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators remain at the scene and are actively investigating the shooting.

The deceased victim will be identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
