Two sought in string of El Dorado Hills burglaries, seen on video using crowbar, hammer
Authorities are looking to identify two suspects accused of burglarizing businesses in El Dorado Hills in the past week.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video from two of the burglaries, each appearing to show a man and a woman using tools to break in through the front entrance of two different businesses.
In one video, with a timestamp of 5:30 a.m. Sunday, a male suspect in a green hoodie and gray sweatpants exits a dark-colored sedan and walks out of frame toward the corner of a strip mall. Moments later, a female suspect, in a black hoodie and black pants, smashes out the glass door of a business on the opposite corner of the building with a hammer to gain entry.
The woman leaves the store less than two minutes later, carrying stolen items, and drives away in the sedan, the video shows. Shortly after 5:40 a.m., the man in the green hoodie runs away on foot, passing by the surveillance camera. He can be seen wearing a skull mask or bandanna over his face.
The burglary occurs at a business with a catering van for Taqueria El Dorado Mexican Grill parked directly in front of the entrance, and appears to have taken place at the strip mall that houses the restaurant, at the shopping center off of El Dorado Hills Boulevard just north of Highway 50.
In the other video, for which no date or address is given, the man and woman approach the entrance to a business. The man, wearing a red-and-black flannel jacket, pries open the front door with what appears to be a crowbar, and the two suspects enter the building. The woman is wearing a black winter coat and gray pants. Both are wearing bandannas and gloves.
The Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post says the suspects drove a stolen white Jeep in at least two of the incidents.
Sheriff’s officials have asked anyone with information about either person to contact the Sheriff’s Office via Facebook message.
