Sacramento police arrest man in Hagginwood shooting that left woman dead, 2 men hurt

Police have made an arrest in the triple shooting that left a woman dead and two men injured Sunday night in Sacramento’s Hagginwood neighborhood.

Detectives earlier this week arrested Tristan Cook, 36, on charges of murder and attempted murder, according to a news release Wednesday by the Sacramento Police Department. There are not believed to be any suspects outstanding and investigators “do not believe that this was a random incident,” the news release said.

Sacramento police, in a news release earlier this week, said officers responded shortly after 11:15 p.m. Sunday to reports of shots fired in the 3100 block of Crandall Avenue.

Two men and one woman, all with gunshot wounds, were found by officers and taken to a hospital, where the woman died to her injuries. The other two victims’ injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The woman’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.

The shooting remains under investigation.
