Police seek suspect in East Sacramento bank robbery, the area’s second since November
The Sacramento Police Department is searching for a suspect following the robbery of an East Sacramento Citibank. Police say this is the second bank robbery in the area since November.
Police responded to the 1100 block of Alhambra Boulevard at 11:42 a.m. after receiving calls of a bank robbery, said Officer Karl Chan, police spokesman. The suspect demanded money and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
Chan said no one was injured and added that police would be investigating in collaboration with the FBI as they conduct follow-ups and review security footage.
The robbery marks the second in East Sacramento since November, when a man armed with a gun fired a shot into the air and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing the El Dorado Savings Bank on J Street.
No description of either suspect was immediately available.
Anyone with information regarding these cases is urged to call the Sacramento Police Department at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357.
