Roseville man arrested, accused of forcible rape and attempted murder in Saturday attack

A Roseville man faces charges of assault, attempted murder and rape after an attack on a woman Saturday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls around 4 a.m. Saturday reporting a disturbance in south Placer County, the Sheriff’s Office said Thursday in a Facebook post.

Arriving deputies located a female assault victim, whom they determined had fled to a neighboring residence to seek help, according to the post.

Sheriff’s officials quickly located and arrested David Anthony Vincent, 36, at his Roseville home, according to the news release. He was arrested and booked into the Placer County jail by about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, inmate records show.

The Sheriff’s Office said the assault happened in “a south Placer County community” but did not specify the exact area, adding in a comment below the Facebook post that “detectives are still sorting through the details.”

Vincent is being held on charges of attempted murder, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury and forcible rape. He is ineligible for bail.

Anyone with additional information about the case or suspect is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office’s investigations division at 530-889-7830.
