Woman reports being stabbed after fight on Capital City Freeway in Sacramento, CHP says
The California Highway Patrol is seeking a suspect and any potential witnesses after a woman reported that she was stabbed Thursday during a physical altercation on the Capital City Freeway.
The incident involved two women and reportedly happened around 11:45 a.m. on westbound lanes of the Capital City Freeway near Arden Way, CHP’s Valley Division said in a news release. The suspect fled the scene while the stabbing victim transported herself to the hospital with non-life-threatening stabbing injuries.
“Nobody called 911 from the scene” and no witnesses reported seeing the incident, CHP Valley Division spokesman Officer Mike Harris said Friday morning, so officers did not respond directly to the scene. The account of the incident is based on the hospitalized victim’s statements to authorities, he said.
“We don’t have much to go on,” Harris said.
The victim described the suspect as a white woman, approximately 5-foot-5, 140 pounds and long brown hair, according to the news release. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a small, white 2000s sedan with a discolored rear bumper. The victim was driving a green Toyota SUV.
Anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident is asked to contact CHP dispatch at 916-861-1300.
