Person stabbed during fight on Elk Grove roadway, police say. Motorcyclist sought

Police say one person was stabbed and hospitalized following a roadway fight Thursday evening in Elk Grove.

Officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. to Calvine and Elk Grove Florin roads for reports of an assault, the Elk Grove Police Department said in a Facebook post.

“Two people were fighting in the road,” the post said. “During the fight, one of the subjects was stabbed.”

A family member transported the stabbing victim to a local hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, police said. The other involved party fled the scene and was not located.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing a black vest, blue jeans and black shoes, and was seen fleeing the scene on a dark-colored motorcycle, the Elk Grove Police Department said in a daily activity log entry posted Friday.
