Pair arrested in Placer County with ID documents from at least 10 victims, deputies say

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man and a woman following a traffic stop Saturday night in Placer County after discovering drugs and identifying documents stolen from at least 10 victims in their vehicle , authorities said.

A deputy pulled over 33-year-old Eric Moore in North Auburn on Saturday night, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Moore was on post-release supervision and appeared to be driving under the influence, the post said.

“Upon searching Moore’s car, deputies found a pouch with credit cards, a passport, drivers licenses, personal documents and handwritten notes with other people’s personal identifying information,” the Sheriff’s Office post said.

Deputies also searched the purse of Moore’s passenger, identified as 25-year-old Shelby DeGraffenreid-Parham, and discovered methamphetamine, “loaded” syringes, baggies and a digital scale, the post said. A glass pipe was also found in the vehicle.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Auburn Jail, where Moore was confirmed to have been driving under the influence of a controlled substance, the sheriff’s post said.

Moore and DeGraffenreid-Parham were each booked into the jail on charges related to identity theft, possession of meth with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore faces an additional charge of DUI and violating his post-release supervision; DeGraffenreid-Parham is being charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

The Sheriff’s Office says the identity theft documents found in the vehicle belonged to at least 10 different people, but property crime detectives are investigating to determine whether there are additional victims.

Moore remains in custody at the jail, ineligible for bail due to supervision violation. DeGraffenreid-Parham, whose charges are misdemeanors, has been released on bail.
