Roseville police use cameras and tech to find man suspected of occupied home burglary
Security camera video and license plate reading technology led detectives to find a man suspected of breaking into an occupied Roseville home.
Roseville Police Department detectives on Monday arrested Peter Nnedum, 21, of Rancho Cordova on suspicion of burglary. Nnedum was on probation in Sacramento County at the time of his arrest, Roseville police officials said Thursday in a Facebook post.
He remained in custody at the Placer County jail Thursday. His bail amount was set at $300,000, according to sheriff’s custody records.
The burglary occurred in the early hours of March 28, when Nnedum entered the occupied home in the 1400 block of New England Drive, according to Roseville police. They did not indicate whether anything was stolen from the home.
But police officials did say security camera footage, license plate reading technology and “intricate investigations” led to Nnedum’s arrest.
Police reminded precautions are needed to prevent break-ins, even though occupied home burglaries are extremely rare. Officials said doors, windows and gates should be shut and locked, garage doors should be closed and using security lights could help reduce the chances of burglary.
