Three injured in Roseville crash after driver strikes concrete barrier, CHP says

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a Tuesday afternoon collision in Roseville which left three people injured and closed Walerga Road for a few hours.

Robert Jones, 70, of Roseville was reported by witnesses as speeding and swerving while driving southbound on Walerga Road at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to a CHP news release. Jones struck a concrete barrier. causing him to collide with a Nissan Altima which had been traveling in the opposite direction.

Both Jones and the Altima driver – Augustine Santos, 22, of Rio Linda – were transported to an area hospital with major injuries, the CHP says. D’Lana Farmer, a passenger in the Altima, was treated for minor injuries, according to the release.

Officers said Walerga Road was closed for two hours during the investigation, said the Auburn-area CHP, which believes drugs or alcohol may been a factor in the collision.
