Davis man hit by guests with baseball bat and steel pipe in his apartment, police say
Detectives on Thursday arrested two people and were looking for a third suspect who allegedly attacked a man in his Davis apartment, kicking and hitting him with objects, including a baseball bat and a steel pipe.
Detectives were searching for Dominique Krogstad, 23, of Davis, in connection with the attack that occurred earlier this week, the Davis Police Department announced on Facebook.
Norma Gentry, 28, of Woodland, and Jose Alex Rodriguez, 27, of Davis, were arrested on suspicion of various felony assault charges, police said. They were both booked at Yolo County Jail.
The assault happened at the apartment in the 300 block of K Street, between Third and Fourth streets in Davis, police said.
About 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the man had several people as guests in his apartment and became involved in an argument with some of them, according to police.
The argument escalated to violence, when the man was assaulted by the three suspects, officials said. Detectives believe one of the suspects kicked the man’s face and body multiple times and also hit him with an unknown object.
Another suspect hit the man on his head and body with the aluminum baseball bat, according to police. Another suspect used the steel pipe to hit the man on his head and body. Officials did not indicate which suspect used the steel pipe, the bat or the unknown object.
The injured man was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for his wounds.
On Thursday, detectives served a search warrant at a Woodland home and arrested Gentry and Rodriguez.
Detectives ask anyone with information on Krogstad’s whereabouts to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
