A standoff situation involving a barricaded suspect ended peacefully Monday night in West Sacramento, with one person taken into custody, the West Sacramento Police Department said.

Police first notified the public about the incident around 6 p.m. and urged those in the area of Henshaw Road, Arrowhead Street and Huntington Road to shelter in place, according to social media posts by the department.

Around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, the West Sacramento Police Department in a Facebook post said the suspect had been taken safely into custody. No other details were released.
